You can use Messenger without Facebook. Messenger is simple to use even without having a Facebook login or account. It is as easy as installing the app and setting it up.

Both are evidently connected. These steps will allow you to use Facebook Messenger even if your Facebook account is not active.
Messenger can be used without Facebook You can, in a way. However, should you?
Facebook Messenger is the largest messaging platform worldwide. Its chief competitor is WhatsApp—another service owned and operated by Facebook. Messenger's main reason for being used is because it's likely that your friends use it too.
Messenger goes beyond chatting with friends. Messenger is a multipurpose tool that can be used for many purposes.
You want to place an Uber order? Use Messenger. You need to send a video or voice call? Use Messenger. You can play against friends with Messenger. Use Messenger. This is without mentioning the many ways you can send GIFs to friends. Although none of these features are exclusive to Messenger, the combined benefits will make Messenger a popular choice.
Messenger is compatible with all operating systems, just like WhatsApp. Even if your iPhone is not available, you can still keep in touch with Android friends.
You can also send messages using end-to encryption, but it is not by default. To activate encryption, you will need to be familiar with the steps. Third parties cannot intercept the messages you send. While your message is in transit, no one can view it. This is the minimum that you can expect in an instant messaging system these days.

It used to be easier. You could sign up for Facebook Messenger using your mobile number. Facebook has quietly discontinued this feature in 2019. You will now need a Facebook account. Don't worry, you have options.
The consequences of the offense are basically the same, except that you have to go through an additional hoops.
You first need to learn how to install Messenger. It is very simple. Depending on which device you have, go to either the App Store (or Google Play). You risk downloading malware if it isn't the official Facebook app.
The next step is to learn how to sign-up for Messenger.
The app will prompt you to create a Facebook account by using your phone number or email address when you first open it. Click on New Account instead. You will be redirected to Facebook.
Your first and last names must be entered. You can also use a pseudonym to hide your true name on Facebook. However, this name will appear in Messenger. Tap Next. Next, enter a password. You can use a unique password that is difficult to guess. There are many ways to make a memorable password. Click Sign up. Verify your account by email or via SMS.
So now that you're logged in to Facebook, it is time for some action. It's not perfect, but there are ways to make it better. What's the next step?

You will need to activate your account in order to fully utilize the app.
To make it easier for other users to recognize you, you could upload a picture of yourself. Messenger doesn't allow you to do this. Messenger defaults to the profile photo of Facebook, so it is important to change that within your account.
What is the best way to add friends in Messenger? This can be done via Facebook if desired. However, you will need to tell them this is only temporary as you are only using Messenger to communicate with them. To connect only to Messenger using your phone, click the profile photo in the upper-left corner of your interface. Next, go to Contacts > Upload contacts. The app will be synced with your phone's contact list.
The main problem is still there: You have a Facebook account to simply use Messenger. What can you do now?
Messenger will continue to work even if your Facebook account is deactivated. Messenger will only work if you deactivate your Facebook profile.
You cannot, however, delete Facebook and Messenger simultaneously.
This is a serious decision. You need to understand what deactivating your Facebook account means before you start the process.
Deactivating Facebook allows you to take your time and consider whether or not you wish to delete your account permanently. Your data will still be available for you to reactivate. Messenger will still work as usual. Messenger will continue to work even after you have deactivated Facebook.
If you delete Facebook, all your messages from Facebook will say "Facebook user" and nobody will be able respond. Messenger will not be available to you.
These messages and contacts will not be deleted if you deactivate them. All your messages from the device will be deleted irretrievably (but not the recipient's devices). You'll have to make a new Facebook account by following the steps above.
How do I delete or deactivate Facebook? Log in first, and then click the down arrow at the top of the screen. You can access Privacy > Settings > Facebook Information. The latter is located in the column below. Select Deactivation or deletion.
With warnings on what to do if you choose one of the two methods, you'll be able to see both options. Choose Activate your account to allow you to use Messenger on the smartphone.
Unfortunately, Messenger can't be used via your browser without an active Facebook account.
Your deactivated Facebook account will be reactivated the moment you log in via your browser.
You can change your privacy settings to prevent too many people from finding you. You can also toggle your privacy settings to reduce the data Facebook has access to you.
Messenger and Facebook are both intrinsically linked, which means that you cannot use Messenger without one.
However, this loophole lets you use Messenger regardless of whether your Facebook account has been deactivated.
