Reddit can be deleted, but only from certain platforms.
If you do not want your Reddit account to be deleted, you must first delete comments and posts. Your comments and posts will still be available on Reddit even if you deactivate your account.
Even if you delete Reddit, sent messages will still appear in user inboxes—unless they delete them from their end. The user will only see "[deleted]" when trying to locate the source of their message.
Keep in mind, however that Reddit Premium members are not automatically able to cancel their subscriptions if they deactivate their accounts. You will need to cancel your subscription if you bought your subscription using your Apple ID.
You will also need to unsubscribe if you bought it via Android. To cancel if you purchased it using PayPal, a credit/debit or card payment system visit the Subscribe section of your User Settings.
Another thing you should keep in mind: temporarily deactivating your Reddit account is not possible. It's gone when it's gone.

Android does not currently offer a way to delete an account. You will have to visit the website.
